Alex Bugnon, a renowned musician, composer, and bandleader, has been a vibrant force in contemporary music for nearly three decades. Hailing from Caux, Switzerland, near the famous Montreux Jazz Festival, Bugnon was inspired by his musical surroundings and early connections with legends like Herbie Hancock and his uncle, Donald Byrd. After training at the Paris Conservatory and Berklee School of Music, he shaped his unique sound, blending jazz, R&B, gospel, and funk.

Bugnon’s career took off with his debut album, Love Season (1989), reaching No. 2 on the R&B charts and earning a Soul Train Award nomination. Over the years, he signed with major labels like Epic and RCA, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as 107 Degrees in the Shade and Tales from the Bright Side. His continued success includes tours, multiple album releases, and a dedicated fan base, with a record-setting 20 consecutive years performing at Washington D.C.’s Blues Alley.
