Welcome to WINGS at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden – a captivating exploration of the enchanting world of winged creatures! From delicate butterflies to majestic birds, this bespoke exhibit invites you to discover the beauty, diversity, and wonder of flight in all its forms. From March 23 to May 26, our gardens will come alive with the delicate dance of bats, bees, butterflies, insects, bluebirds, hummingbirds, owls, chimney swifts, and purple martins. Visitors will be able to delve into the nuanced habitats of various species, allowing them to connect with each species in a distinctive and meaningful way.
WINGS offers a multi-faceted experience that combines art, education, and conservation to celebrate the fascinating realm of flight. Through unique displays, artistic installations, and informative exhibits, visitors of all ages will gain a deeper appreciation for the vital role that winged creatures play in our ecosystem. Diverse Gardens: Visitors can immerse themselves in the enchanting realms of our gardens, each dedicated to a specific winged species. From Lost Hollow’s bat haven to the Cottage Garden’s hummingbird sanctuary, different corners of our exhibit each tell a unique story.
Educational Opportunities: WINGS isn’t just an exhibit; it’s a journey of discovery. Engage with specially curated educational programs for both children and adults, unraveling the mysteries of these fascinating creatures and their habitats.
Permanent Installations: Some elements of WINGS are here to stay. The exhibit boasts permanent installations like the Chimney Swift Towers, not just as art but as functional environmental habitats and educational tools.
Temporary Art with Purpose: Witness the temporary installations, such as bat houses, which serve as both artistic expressions and educational tools during the exhibit. Afterward, these structures will be rehomed in our woods, contributing to functional habitats.
